I
am a lifelong resident of
Northern Minnesota. Having been born and raised near
the small town of Bovey-Coleraine, growing up in
this location allowed me to really enjoy all of the
advantages that living "Up
North" has to offer. I grew up fishing the local
lakes and hunting here with my family and found
myself very 'at home' being on the water and in the
woods. I began my career as fishing and hunting
guide shortly after graduating from Greenway High
School in the early 1990's. Since that time, I have
made myself very familiar with a majority of the
lakes and forests in the surrounding area. Whether I
am on the water or scouting for hunting ground, I
not only catch fish but also bring down game. I
educated myself to each of the lakes and forests
unique characteristics. I pay special attention to
learning the structures that are known to hold fish,
and understand and find the best vegetation that
will attract fish and what forest habitat is
favorable for providing an abundance of wildlife.
Once I gather this information in a journal, I can
then document which lake seems to produce the best
bite for that particular time of the year. I can
credit some of my success as a hunter and fisherman
to my ability to be persistent in bettering my
knowledge of these sports.
