Today
is the day I
really start
getting excited
about fishing.
May 1st,
that’s when
everything is
about to happen;
the boat needs
some care, the
trailer needs the
hubs greased,
tires need to be
checked, the strap
for hoisting the
boat out of the
water on to the
trailer checked
for wear, and
getting those rods
ready.
This is
where you really
start to think,
“Should I go
with six pound
test or eight?”
“Should I go
with a glow color
jig or the famous
green bomber?”
what ever it is
you need to do,
get that boat
ready or hip boots
patched to enjoy
the day of fishing
(or even the ice
auger in
Minnesota).
Be prepared
so the day is a
relaxing and
enjoyable one and
hopefully these
tips will help.
1.
Tire damage
(look for weather
cracks)
2.
Proper tire
pressure
3.
Bearing
packed with new
grease (water will
break down old
grease with time)
4.
New
registration for
2008
5.
Lights
working properly
(boat and trailer)
6.
Motor will
start before
getting to the
lake
7.
Life
jackets and
throwable device
(two different
things)
8.
Last but
not least, don’t
forget the plug
(its happened to
everyone)
